This 14 days trek is a blend of adventure and holiness. This is one of the foremost exhilarating trekking within the Annapurna Region and is located at 2,800m. This trek is not only perfect for pilgrims but also for those who are trying to find adventurous trekking within the diversification of culture and nature. Splendid views of mountains and hills are often seen while passing through gorgeous outlook. The interesting fact about this trek is it passes through the deepest gorge i.e Kaligandaki George with desert areas. With a 7 hours’ drive to Pokhara city which is known as the city of lakes, we start our mountain journey to Jomsom. Jomsom is the capital city of Mustang District. Then our next destination is kagbeni which is a little beautiful village that provides us beautiful sights of highlands of Tibet. Then we again mover forward towards Muktinath which is the highest altitude of this trek. Muktinath makes a trek not only perfect for adventure but also for those who are looking for pilgrim’s site. Muktinath means "Lord of Salvation" and every year thousands of devotees went for worship in a hope to receive salvation from the cycle of birth and rebirth. It is a gateway to Mustang from Manang infamous Annapurna Circuit Trek route.

Detailed Itinerary

We receive you from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on your arrival. In 20- 30 minutes, our vehicle brings you to the hotel. After you take rest in the hotel, we hold a meeting over dinner to plan your trip.

After breakfast, we drive to Pokhara via Prithivi national highway with scenic views along the road. The drive could take around 7 hours to reach in Pokhara. We even have the choice for a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes around 35 minutes. Overnight stay at hotel

In the early morning, we take the scenic flight to Jomsom which takes 25 minutes. During our flight, it brings us on the brink of the mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges. Then we will have our breakfast in Jomsom and start our trek to Kagbeni along with the kali Gandaki George for around 2 hours. When the terrain becomes far more barren, the breeze increases. Overnight at lodge.

From Kagbeni, the route leads to the plains of Kaligandaki. The road leads to a place called Eklai Bhatti where there are very few tea houses. Earlier there used to be the only tea house within the area. There is a splitting of the path in this area, one leads to Muktinath and another to upper mustang and Tibet. In this are we will explore the sanctum of Hindu like an endless flame coming from gas next to spring which is taken into account as a holy place. We continue towards our next destination, Ranipuwa where we will stay at the lodge.

Today, we will get the prospect to ascertain spectacular mountain views before descending to Lupra rivers via Lupra, which is a stimulating and scenic trekking trail to reach Jomsom. Lupra is an isolated village. After 6 hours of walk, we will reach the village Marha. Marpha is legendary for the apple garden place of Nepal. The ancient Thakali community and typical architecture is the main attraction of this village. Overnight at the lodge.

Early in the morning after having breakfast, we move ahead with narrow trails through the interesting village Khobang to reach Ghasa. We will pass Larjung and Kokhenthanti and in between, we will have our lunch. After a couple of hours of a trek, we will see mesmerizing views of Annapurna form kalapani. And after a few minute's ups and downs, we reach Ghasa, where we will stay overnight.

This day, the trail goes right down to the Kaligandaki Gorge which is the deepest gorge in the world. And, then the trails begins gently descending to the Rupchechhara waterfall which is among the most beautiful waterfall in Nepal, and then we move forward to Tatopani. Tatopani is one of the favored short trek spots out of Pokhara. Overnight stay at the guest house.

After breakfast, we follow the Kali Gandaki trail for about 10 minutes crossing a bridge & next during a jiffy again we hike across an old airy bridge that we encounter upfront. The hills are extensively terraced so the trail drops up through Durbin Danda. Sikha may be a large village with shops and hotels, from there the trail ascends gently to Ghara at 1705m. The trail makes an ascending steeply to Shikha. Overnight at the lodge.

The trails continue to ascend Ghorepani via Chitre. Today brings you through green scenic terraces & villages & also Rhododendron forest. March & April are going to be colorful with blooming rhododendrons everywhere. This flower is the National flower of Nepal. The last 10 minutes leads you up the trail with some steep ascending through roots of Rhododendrons & then you reach amazing Ghorepani. It is a huge settlement with hotels & lodges also as shops. Overnight at the local lodge.

In the morning after an early wakeup call with some hot coffee, we'll rise early and hike up to Poon Hill at 3210m. From here you'll see superb views of the sunrise and a bird's eye view of the Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, etc. After visiting Poonhill, we'll come to Ghorepani, have our breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at the guesthouse.

After breakfast, we continue the journey. On this day, we descend along the path that passes via the forests and scattered Gurung villages. The enchanting mountains surround the green scenery as we hike up to Ghandruk, the oldest Gurung village in Annapurna Region. The Traditional Gurung Museum in the village is worth visiting as it displays traditional costumes and equipment used by the Gurungs. The village offers magnificent views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Apart from the museum, there is a temple that is accessible after climbing 670 steps. Overnight stay in Ghandruk.

After breakfast, we carry on our journey along the trail that leads us through the farms, fields, villages. As we descend the path, we feel the difference in the temperature due to the change in altitude. We meander along the bank of Modi River and cross it via the suspension bridge when we arrive at Birethanti. Here, we take lunch and head for Nayapul from where we take a private vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

After breakfast in the morning, we visit Mahendra Cave and Davis fall, popular attractions in Pokhara. After taking a rest, we fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon which takes about 40 minutes. The flight allows observing the mountain closely. This day is for taking a rest and exploring nearby places, we enjoy the night in Kathmandu.

      Equipment

      Trekking in the Himalayas requires equipment and footwear according to the season and the location. A single trek can start in the warm and humid climate in the lowlands, and bring you to passes above 5,000m. Solid trainers (“sneakers”) are adequate on most trails but bring sturdy boots for crossing passes that may be covered with snow. Climbing expeditions requires special equipment. Sandals and flip-flops are practical for an evening in lodges or camp. You can buy any kind of footwear in Nepal.   No, it is not possible to live off the land in Nepal. You cannot just set off into the woods with a little money, a basket and a fishing rod and expect to manage on your own, Not only is the vegetation where there are fruit, wild herbs and other wild edibles limited, private community-owned, but fish is sparse and hunting is forbidden. It can also be difficult to buy food locally due to scarcity and poverty.
