    Trip Information

Dudh Kunda trek is a newly opened but popular trekking trail in the Solukhumbu region. It is a combination of teahouse and camping trek and is perfect for nature lovers. Dudh Kunda Lake, known as Shorong Yul Lha (protector of Solu region) is located at the foot of Number Himal (Dudhkunda Himal). Dudh Kunda, a holy lake surrounded by mountainous terrain and believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, is a popular destination for Hindu pilgrimage tours and adventure trekkers. It is a holy milky lake as people believe that taking a dip into the icy cold water will free them from all their sins. During full-moon nights in August, pilgrims and Jhankris (Shaman Priests) hold a week-long celebration here. This trek starts with the flight to Phaplu and treks to Dudhkunda via Salleri, Ringmo, Takshindu and Saharsbeni, then trek back to Ringmo to Phaplu and flight back to Kathmandu. You can enjoy panoramic scenes of Mt. Everest, Mt. Numbur, the Everest Himalayan range, rhododendron and pine forests, wild animals and birds such as bears, leopards, jackals, mountain thars, Pheasant and many more. Many Ethnic groups such as Sherpas, Khaling Rais, Tamangs, Magars, and Gurungs live here. The hospitality of the local people is one of the most heartwarming experiences of the Solu area with a long experience. This is a journey to a part of the world where very few people have set foot until now, a cultural journey for the young and old alike.
